Top 10 Things That Make a Relationship Work

If things aren’t going too well between you and your partner, don’t you worry! Here are some tips to keep in mind for a successful relationship with your partner. Top 10 things that make shaadi work and deepen the bond…
1. Spend Time Together
Take out at least half an hour from your busy schedule everyday to speak to your partner. Make it a point to spend some quality time exclusively together and go out atleast once a month. It helps, trust us!
2. Two-way Communication is Important
Communication is the key to success in any relationship. The more you communicate, the better it is for the two of you, as it helps you understand each other better. But, remember interaction implies action on both sides. Therefore, every interaction should be two-way.
3. Learn to Compromise and Adjust
There’s no harm in compromising and making some adjustments to make your relationship work. In fact, won’t it be rude if you don’t compromise in any way and every time your find your partner
has to adjust? So, make that extra effort for your partner. Remember, a good relationship is always built on compromise and a great deal of give-and-take from both sides. Also, adjustment is part and parcel of every long-lasting relationship.
4. Continue to Compliment
In most cases, the couple compliment each other only in the initial days and then it all suddenly stops. If it’s the same in your case too, start complementing your partner again and s/he will love it, trust us! The compliments should continue even after a few years of the relationship to keep the chemistry alive.
5. Don’t Try to Change Your Partner
If you really love your partner, accept him/her unconditionally. Instead of trying to change some characteristics about your partner, you have to learn to accept your partner the way s/he is.
6. Forgive and Forget
All couples have their share of ups and downs in life. If your partner has hurt you in the past and since then things have changed between the two of you, it’s best to forgive him/her. Remember, forgive and forget is the key to a better relationship. So, try this and things will soon get back on track.
7. Keep Smiling
You need to learn to do that one thing that’s most likely to restore good feelings in your relationship. Wondering what? We’re just talking about giving your partner a genuine and loving smile every time you see him/her or whenever your partner is around.
8. Speak Up
If there’s something that’s bothering you, say it. Learn to express your problems to your partner and try sorting it out at the earliest. Bottling up your feelings can only make the situation worse and affect your relationship.
9. Work Out a Budget Together
Conflicts over money matters is a common problem. How to save or how to spend is what creates fights. For a relationship to work, you have to listen to each others point of views. Managing finances well and paying heed to your partner’s advice is the best thing to do to avoid fights. Yes, you should make the most of your time now, but also plan for future if you really want to spend rest of your life together.
10. Everyday is a New Day
Yes, we mean it, as everyday you’ll get to know something new about your partner, especially when you happen to meet someone online. Life will be full of surprises and each day will be a discovery. The journey can be as exciting as the destination. So, enjoy the opportunity to discover each others flaws and merits. Way to go!

Sania-Shoaib wedding might be postponed?

As events around the wedding between Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and tennis ace Sania Mirza get murkier by the day, the Indian sports icon's family was "keeping all options open", including postponing the wedding, indicated a close family friend.
Andhra Cricket Association's former secretary V Chamundeswaranath, a close friend of Sania's family, told reporters late Monday that "while no decision was taken to postpone the marriage, the family was keeping all options open".
Chamundeswaranath has been regularly visiting the Mirza family ever since Shoaib arrived here Friday for his wedding scheduled for April 15.
With Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be Shoaib's first wife, launching a legal fight to prove her claim and the police not ruling out the Pakistani cricketer's arrest, the two families are seriously considering delaying the marriage, it is learnt.
Police Monday grilled Shoaib at Sania's house at posh Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad after booking a criminal case of cheating, harassment and criminal intimidation against him following a complaint by Ayesha, who is also a resident of this city.
Though both Shoaib and Sania, during their interaction with the media Monday, asserted that the marriage would take place April 15, the family is visibly worried over the impact the controversy may have on the celebrations.
Sania was tense and irritated while answering media queries Monday. "Of course I am upset but we are happy that we are together and we are happy that we are getting married, Inshallah. We want to remember this as a happy occasion in our life and not as bad thing or negative thing," she said.
Police officers, who took away Shoaib's passport and mobile phone, said he may be questioned again and may also be arrested on the basis of evidence they may come across during the course of investigations.
WHAT DO THE
STARS SAY?
It's a rocky way ahead for Sania and Shoaib if the predictions of leading astrologers are anything to go by. They predict that the future is not at all rosy for Sania and the current controversy is just the 'tip of the iceberg of troubles' for her.
Tarot card reader Sunita Menon says, "It's a very rocky way ahead for her. I get an indication that it is going to be troublesome and stormy. But I would not like to comment on things like divorce or separation [from Shoaib] because I don't believe in saying negative things."
Numerologist Sanjay Jumaani is even more forthright in his predictions. "Sania Mirza spells trouble," he says. "Her name adds up to 26 which is an octave of number eight of Saturn.
If you remember, many catastrophic events took place on the 26th -- tsunami on December 26, the Mumbai floods took place on July 26, the Mumbai terrorist attacks on November 26, the Bhuj earthquake on January 26, etc. If Sania doesn't do anything about her name, then she will get into trouble frequently. The same thing applies to her marriage."
Astrologer Bejan Daruwalla says he is not at all 'excited' by the 'match'. "By the grace of Ganesha, the marriage will definitely happen within six months. But six months later, troubles will start again. Both of them are a very tough and difficult combination. I don't want to say about the future of the marriage because both of them are looking forward to a dream. But things look very difficult to me."
SIDDIQUIS TELL PAK LAWYER TO STOP THE MARRIAGE
The Pakistani lawyer of Ayesha has been asked by his client to institute criminal proceedings against Shoaib and stop the imminent marriage.
Speaking at a news conference in Lahore, barrister Farooq Hasan said he had detailed conversations on phone with Ayesha and her father who authorised him to proceed against Shoaib on at least three counts. The lawyer said it was obvious that Shoaib was cheating on Ayesha.
"I will seek the registration of a criminal case against Shoaib for defrauding and cheating an Indian girl," Hasan said. "I will seek registration of yet another case against him under the Hudood Ordinance, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for the accused. Thirdly, I will force Shoaib to concede his first marriage with Ayesha and divorce her in accordance with Muslim family law before contracting his second marriage," he said.
COUPLE INVITED TO GILGIT-BALTISTAN FOR HONEYMOON
Shoaib and Sania have been invited to Gilgit-Baltistan for their honeymoon by Pakistan occupied Kashmir's Chief Minister Mehdi Shah.
Shah said both would be given official protocol in Gilgit if they decide to visit the region after their marriage, the Daily Times reports.
SHOAIB'S LAWYER HOPES HE WILL GET HIS PP BACK
Shoaib's Delhi-based lawyer Ramesh Gupta on Tuesday said a representation has been submitted to the commissioner of police in Hyderabad and is hopeful that the Pakistani cricketer, facing charges of cheating a woman who claims to be his wife, will get his passport back soon.
"Shoaib's passport is lying with the police and the commissioner told us that it has not been seized but they just need it for verification. Shoaib is any way here till his [April 15] marriage and we hope they would probably keep a photocopy and return the passport," Gupta said.
Shoaib's brother-in-law Imran Malik, who was present there, said he was here to make arrangements for the April 15 marriage, maintaining Shoaib's alleged 'nikah' with Ayesha was invalid.
Asked how could Shoaib sign a 'nikahnama', invalid or not, without having seen the girl, Imran said, "Had Shoaib not made the blunder, this situation would not have arisen." Imran flew in the capital on Tuesday to met with his lawyer to draw up the future course of action.
LATIF BACKS SHOAIB
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif said on Tuesday Shoaib used to borrow his laptop to chat with a girl and showed him pictures of her. Rashid also said that the Ayesha he has seen on TV is not the girl he saw in pictures.

Marriage History

"Married" and "Matrimony" redirect here. For other uses, see Married (disambiguation) and Matrimony (disambiguation).

Marriage
(also called matrimony or wedlock) is a social union or legal contract between people that creates kinship. The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but is usually aninstitution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged. Such a union is often formalized via a wedding ceremony. Many cultures limit marriage to two persons of the opposite sex, but some allow forms of polygamous marriage, and some recognize same-sex marriage. In some conservative cultures, marriage is recommended or compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity.
People marry for many reasons, including one or more of the following: legal, social, libidinal, emotional, economic, spiritual, and religious. These might include arranged marriages, family obligations, the legal establishment of a nuclear family unit, the legal protection of children and public declaration ofcommitment.[1][2] The act of marriage usually creates normative or legal obligations between the individuals involved. Some cultures allow the dissolution of marriage through divorce orannulment.
Marriage can be recognized by a state, an organization, a religious authority, a tribal group, a local community or peers. It is often viewed as a contract. Civil marriage is the legal concept of marriage as a governmental institution irrespective of religious affiliation, in accordance withmarriage laws of the jurisdiction.

Arranged marriages

Arranged marriages have been an integral part of Pakistani society for years and are still prevalent. Marriages are often arranged within the family or within the same community or ethnicity. Social and educational status are very important in arranged matrimonial alliances. However nowadays, love marriages are slowly becoming more common and acceptable in Pakistan. Arranged matches are made after taking into account factors such as the wealth and social standing of their families. A marriage can also be made within the extended family such as between cousins.
There are two types of arranged marriages in Pakistan. Under semi-arranged marriages, the couple makes the final decision. In a completely arranged marriage, with no compromises made by the potential bride and groom, the parents’ decision is final. Dating is frowned upon in Pakistani society and it’s still not acceptable. However, a new generation of Pakistani adolescents have taken on Western practices of courtship. Dating has become a new phenomenon but it happens “behind the scenes” where it’s hushed in order to protect the family honor. The most liberal and educated of Pakistan undergo semi-arranged marriages in the urban parts of the country, and fully arranged marriages are seen mostly in rural areas which hold the least educated people.

Real Bride: Pearls and Silk

Montreal is a city with old-world, european bones, and a vibrant, young, new-world heart.  This juxtaposition of ideas is the same mood that sets apart the photos of my next real bride.  Dressed in a blush pink, silk lengha and bedecked with pearls, she is a soft beauty standing in the hard, urban background of Montreal's downtown.  Proof that not all good wedding photos have to be set in a garden. This wedding was sent to me by Shaima of Shaima al-Khalili Photography.
